5:00pm | This morning, Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene of a 19 month old female toddler on the 1600 block of Rogers Street who had been struck by a car. A Long Beach Police Officer had administered CPR, however when paramedics arrived they found that the toddler had sustained major trauma, did not have a pulse, and was not breathing.
Paramedics immediately took over resuscitative efforts and en route to the hospital the toddler regained pulses but needed ventilation assistance. The toddler was transported to a local pediatric trauma hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
The cause of this accident is currently being investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
