8:00am | Long Beach firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Wednesday to find one of the vehicles had been cut into two separate pieces from the collision with another other vehicle.  The accident occurred around 12:50pm Wednesday near the 605 Freeway on-ramp at Spring Street.

The front half of the car stayed on the street while the other half was launched down the embankment below.  A 27-year old female driver and 9-year old male passenger only sustained moderate to minor injuries.  Firefighters safely removed the female patient from that vehicle and transported her to a local area hospital with the boy.

The male driver of the other vehicle, described to be in his early 20’s, was also carefully pulled out by Firefighters from the twisted wreckage and was transported to a local area hospital with moderate to severe injuries.
