A five-car crash halted traffic on the Gerald Desmond Bridge late Wednesday afternoon, according to LBPD spokeswoman Claudia Lopez.
Long Beach Police Department officers dispatched to the scene at about 4:45PM and closed traffic on the bridge in both directions to investigate the accident. No one was injured in the crash.
The bridge was still closed until about 7:48PM, Lopez said, and Westbound traffic on Ocean Blvd. was diverted to the Northbound 710 Freeway.
No other details, including the cause of the accident, were immediately available.
