Proceeds from two upcoming events will benefit Long Beach libraries, which have seen their hours, staff and services cut in recent years over budget concerns. The first event is this Saturday, the 3rd annual Good Neighbor Festival and Picnic at Good Neighbor Park from 10:00am-3:00pm. Children’s carnival games will be available to play for 5 cents, which will be donated to both the El Dorado and Bach libraries in Long Beach. The festival will also feature live music, free food, contests and prizes.

The second event is a one-woman performance to be held at the Found Theatre on Long Beach Boulevard.
Juliette Fairley will perform “Mulatto’s Dilemma,” a love story about her parents and their struggles, as well as other tales. Tickets are 100% tax deductible and range in price from $50-$100, which will all be donated to the Long Beach Public Library. The show will be held on October 25.
