The city of Long Beach is ready for its close-up, now.
Today marks the invasion of University By The Sea, a massive undertaking consisting of events and classes of all kinds, all over the city. From music and beer gardens to shipping containers and “green” living, there’s a wide range of things to do and see today.
You can visit the U-Sea website here, and see special events to attend here as well as classes that still have available space here. The first session of classes begins at 10:00am with others following at 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Everything from cooking classes to laughter yoga, improv lessons to ocean pollution – the list is so long that there’s sure to be something for everyone. Some require fees but many are free, so see which piques your interest!
The events planned are so extensive that they can hardly be contained by this column. From an anti-violence art show (which Sander Wolff previewed here) to a gallery of shipping containers, nine hours of dance classes, “The Street of the Future” and weddings, Long Beach is truly on display today.
Looks like the weather is still hanging onto Summer after yesterday’s intro to Fall, so take advantage and celebrate your city with University By The Sea.
