UPDATE | Police announced Wednesday evening that missing 12-year-old boy Davian Jay Carter was found unharmed in Los Angeles around 3 p.m. and has since been reunited with his family.

9/25/19 at 9:22 a.m. | Long Beach police say they’re searching for a 12-year-old boy who was gone when his mother got home from work Tuesday.

Davian Jay Carter’s mother last saw him at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, when she left their apartment in Downtown near Cedar Avenue and Fourth Street, police said. When she returned later that day, he was gone, authorities said in a news release.

“Carter was last seen by a neighbor at approximately 8:15 p.m. while entering the apartment complex,” police said. “Detectives are actively working with the family and nearby agencies to gather additional information and possible destinations to further their investigation and locate Carter.”

Carter is about 5-foot-5, 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, police said. He was wearing a yellow or black sweatshirt, tan pants and black shoes.
