UPDATE July 25, 6:39pm | Long Beach police have released an image of the suspect vehicle involved in the July 16 hit-and-run accident on Broadway that left a 24-year-old Long Beach woman critically injured.

Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani said that investigators obtained the image of the suspect vehicle from a surveillance camera in the area. 

The image below depicts the suspect vehicle leaving the scene. It appears to be a four-door Lexus or Toyota and possibly silver in color, Massacani said.

Police are asking for the public’s heap in locating the vehicle and identifying its owner. They are also asking anyone who might have witnessed the incident to come forward withe any information he or she might have related to the accident.

The victim’s condition has improved since the accident, Massacani added.

July 18, 1:28pm| Long Beach police are asking for the public’s help as it searches for a hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian seriously injured early Saturday morning.

Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani said that officers responded to an injury hit-and-run traffic collision in the 3600 block of Broadway at about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 16. Upon their arrival at the scene, the officers found the young Long Beach woman who had been hit lying underneath a parked car.

The accident left the 24-year-old female victim, who was taken to a local hospital by paramedics, in critical condition, Massacani said.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was hit by a light-colored, four-door vehicle, possibly a small sedan or compact vehicle, that was heading west Broadway when it hit the victim, Massacani said.

The vehicle continued heading west on Broadway, fleeing the scene, and was last seen turning north on Loma Avenue, she said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.
 
Investigators are asking anyone who might have witnessed this hit-and-run or has any information related to the incident to come forward. Tipsters may leave their contact information or remain anonymous if they prefer, Massacani said.
