UPDATE | Two sisters who ran away from their foster home in Cudahy have been found safe while a third girl remains missing, the sheriff’s department announced today.

Eleven-year-old Jasmin Castro, her sister 14-year-old Samantha Castro and 15-year-old Maria Christina Ramirez had last been seen at 5:45AM Monday when they ran away from their foster home in the 5000 block of Elizabeth Street, said Deputy Wally Bracks of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Jasmin and Samantha were found Tuesday in Long Beach by police, authorities said.

Maria, who may have been headed to El Monte where her mother resides, is still missing.

Maria is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 144 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Maria was encouraged to contact sheriff’s East Los Angeles Station Detective L. Sanchez or Detective M. Lugo at (323) 264-4151.

4/24/2018 at 11:27AM | The sheriff’s department sought the public’s help today to find three girls who ran away from their foster home in Cudahy.

Eleven-year-old Jasmin Castro, 14-year-old Samantha Castro and 15-year-old Maria Christina Ramirez, were last seen at 5:45AM Monday when they ran away from their foster home in the 5000 block of Elizabeth Street, said Deputy Wally Bracks of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Jasmin and Samantha are sisters and may be headed to Long Beach, while Maria may be headed to El Monte where her mother resides, Bracks said.

Jasmin is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Samantha is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 94 pounds, with blue and gray eyes and brown hair.

Maria is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 144 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
