The public is invited to voice their opinions about a new post office in Bixby Knolls after the previous one, located at 4580 Atlantic Avenue, closed last week when it was forced to vacate the property by the landlord

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is hoping to find a new location for retail and Post Office Box services as close to the old location as possible.

USPS will host a public meeting on February 25 at 6:00PM at the Long Beach Expo Art Center, located at 4320 Atlantic Avenue, for the public to share their input about where the new post office should be located.

An emergency relocation of Post Office Box service has taken place at the North Long Beach Station, located at 101 East Market Street.

“This move is a temporary solution to provide uninterrupted service while a search for a permanent location takes place,” said USPS spokesman Richard Maher in a statement. “Post Office Box numbers and ZIP Codes will not change. Letter carrier delivery operations currently located at Bixby Station for the 90807 ZIP Code will relocate to GMF Station at 2300 Redondo Ave. There will be no impact on mail delivery and this move will be transparent to customers.”
