A vehicle crashed into a home in Paramount Tuesday morning, killing the driver, according to authorities.

There were people inside the home at the time of the crash, but none of them were injured, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash occurred about 1:10 a.m. in the 16600 block of Downey Avenue, near Harrison Street, the LASD said.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the driver trapped in the wreckage. Los Angeles County Fire Department crews were called and freed the driver, who died at the scene, the sheriff’s department said.

A preliminary investigation determined speed was a factor in the crash, the LASD said.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.
