An empty vehicle that may have been pushed into the ocean was found submerged in Long Beach early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Police responded to a call of someone possibly pushing a vehicle into the water from the dock on the 500 block of Queens Way Drive at 2:05AM on Saturday, May 7, according to Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Arriving officers saw a vehicle partially visible just above the water line, she added.

Long Beach lifeguards were then called and deployed a diver to determine if anyone was inside the vehicle. No one was found inside and the vehicle was pulled out.

The suspects were gone upon the arrival of officers.

“The investigation, which includes the possibility the vehicle was stolen, is ongoing,” Arrona said.
