5:20pm | Women in the military, veterans and families and veterans and homelessness will be the three topics covered this Friday at a city-sponsored Veterans Forum.
The Department of Health and Human Services will host the forum this Friday, May 13, from 9:30 am to 12:30 p.m. at the Alpert Jewish Community Center at 3801 E. Willow St.
Attendees will receive information on current veterans’ issues in the Long Beach community, particularly issues that fall under the aforementioned topics.
Partnering with the city to provide the forum are 54th District Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal, D-Long Beach; L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe; VA Long Beach Healthcare System; Jewish Family and Children Services; Retired Senior Volunteer Program; United States Veterans Initiative; Cal State Long Beach Student Veterans Program; Memorial Counseling Associates; Mental Health America Homeless Assistance Program; National Alliance for Mental Illness, Long Beach chapter; and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
