VP Debate Results: They Both Won, According To Local Parties

Long Beach Republican and Democratic clubs each held Vice Presidential debate watching parties at Smooth’s Sports Grille last night.  The Long Beach Democratic Club held their party on the rooftop and welcomed over 100 guests, while the Long Beach Area Republicans gathered downstairs with about 15-20 supporters.  Both parties collected funds to raise money for sponsored candidate campaigns.

Predictably, both parties felt that their respective candidate emerged victorious.

“[Democratic VP candidate] Joe Biden is a very distinguished and experienced man… who was soundly defeated,” said Long Beach City Prosecutor Tom Reeves, in support of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin.  “He had to hit a home run.  She just had to stand at the plate.”

On the other side, Democratic Club organizers Sam Hall and James Johnson both agreed that Biden ran away with the debate.
