Looking for ways to make a difference in the community, or just get out and enjoy a (hopefully) beautiful Saturday morning? We’ve got two inspiring events for you to participate in that are sure to raise spirits and draw smiles.
The first is an event that we told you about last week. Raising money for the Together For Kids network, which includes 53 hospitals across the country, Long Beach’s very own Miller Children’s Hospital hosts Walk Across America at the CSULB track tomorrow morning. Registration begins at 8:00am and the walk begins at 9:00am. For new additions, organizers are asking for a minimum $25 donation which includes a free t-shirt and goodie bag. Best of all, the money raised by this event will go directly towards childhood obesity programs and injury prevention programs.
If you’re looking for a different option, non-profit organization Be The Cause will host its 7th annual Walk For Hope tomorrow, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The 3-mile walk is decorated with inspiring quotes and the entire event is designed to raise spirits and spread joy. There is no fee to participate, and everyone will receive snacks, a t-shirt and live entertainment, all for free!
It’s a good day to be involved in your community. Hope to see you there!
