Walk the Pink Carpet and meet Emmy Award Winner Leslie Jordan as he welcomes you and your guests and signs his book, “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet.” The carpet leads to the Luxurious “Majestic” Yacht where 300 guests will enjoy hosted bars, hors d’oeuvres, a 3-course, full service dinner, celebrity entertainment, a silent auction, awards and dancing, while cruising the harbor.
Leslie is the 2006 Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of “Beverley Leslie” on “Will and Grace.” On stage, Mr. Jordan won the Ovation Award, The Garland Award and The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his portrayal of “Preston Leroy,” in Del Shores hit play “Southern Baptist Sissies.”
During the cruise, which is a benefit for The Center Long Beach, The Center PINK Awards will be presented during the evening’s program. Those being honored this year are Judith Light, LOGO, Wells Fargo, and Mayor Bob Foster.
The event will acknowledge individuals for their support of the LGBTQ community while raising money to support much needed programs and services such as the Center’s Youth programs. MYTE (Mentoring Youth Through Empowerment) is among the Center’s programs committed to improving the quality of life youth by providing a safe, affirmative environment for peer interaction and by enlisting informed, productive and positive role models.
The host for the evening will be actor/comedian Jason Stuart, who has a long resume, appearing in “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Will & Grace,” “My Wife and Kids,” “George Lopez,” “House, M.D.,” “Charmed,” and many more. He was in the film “Coffee Date” and was nominated for a Gay International Film Award for best supporting actor for his performance.
Joining Stuart will be actress Jillian Armenante, best known for her roles in “Judging Amy” and “North Country,” and actor Alec Mapa, best known for his current role on Ugly Betty. The program will take place aboard the three decked, 150 foot private vessel. Boarding will take place from 5:30pm to 6:15pm on Saturday, August 16th.
