‘Tis the season for extravagant car shows – as Pebble Beach, Monterey, and Belmont Shore have shown us recently – and Long Beach’s vibrant car community is no exception.  This Sunday, The Center Long Beach and Great Autos of Yesteryear will collaborate to bring us the 21st annual Concours d’Elegance Car Show, a massive gathering of the last eight decades of automobile design at the Queen Mary.  The event will be held from 10am to 4pm.

Lexus will sponsor the event, which Great Autos is billing as a “Big Gay Car Show!” in their press release.  The show itself promises nothing but quality, as Great Autos boasts more than 1,000 members and 3,000 automobiles and clearly know flywheels from crankshafts.

“This event is a way for us, through our hobby, to raise money and support a very deserving charity,” said President Michael Berckhardt.

That charity is The Center, which has been serving Long Beach’s LGBT community since 1977, and offers a wide range of services and events to more than 21,000 people each year.

There is no admission fee for the show, but donations are requested.
