2:01pm | The West East Side Community Association, along with support from the city of Long Beach’s Fourth Council District Office and the city’s Environmental Services Bureau, is hosting a neighborhood cleanup on Saturday that will be followed by free barbecue for all cleanup volunteers.

The cleanup begins at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, July 23, and is scheduled to run through noon. The cleanup will take place along two major thoroughfares, Anaheim Street and Pacific Coast Highway, between Cherry and Junipero avenues.

The location of the barbecue was not provided in an announcement from Fourth District Councilman Patrick O’Donnell.

Tools and supplies for cleanup volunteers will be provided, and the group will be accepting both tires and e-waste from residents and businesses located in the cleanup area.

High school community service hours can be completed by volunteering at the cleanup.
