A Long Beach woman was taken into custody overnight after police say she stabbed a man during an argument at a home along Fifth Street in North Alamitos Beach.
Police say the man and the woman were at a residence in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street last night when they began arguing.
The argument escalated, according to police, and the woman stabbed the man in the upper body.
The man wasn’t seriously injured, but he transported himself to a local hospital, where police responded around 12:33 a.m. and learned what happened, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers then went to the scene of stabbing and located the woman, whom they identified as a 19-year-old.
She was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said, adding that her bail was set at $80,000. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
