A woman died Thursday night after being hit by two vehicles in the Rose Park area, and both of the vehicles fled the scene, police said.
According to police, the woman was walking northbound across Seventh Street in an unmarked crosswalk near Dawson Avenue when she was hit by a white Toyota truck that was traveling eastbound on Seventh Street shortly after 8:30 p.m.
The driver of the Toyota truck drove away heading eastbound on Seventh Street, police said. The woman was lying in the eastbound lanes of Seventh Street when a blue sport utility vehicle ran over the woman and also fled the scene, police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she died because of her injuries, police said. The Los Angeles coroner’s is withholding the victim’s name until family is notified.
