Woman hospitalized in critical condition after crash on Orange Avenue, police say

Police say a woman was hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning following a crash just north of Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus.

Officers were notified of the crash in the 2100 block of Orange Avenue sometime around 12:55 a.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

At the scene, police located the woman inside a vehicle suffering from critical injuries, the LBPD said. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the woman to a local hospital.

The woman appears to have been driving southbound on Orange Avenue when she crossed into the northbound lanes and struck two unoccupied parked vehicles along a curb, police said. No other injuries were reported.

It is not clear at this time if distracted driving, impaired driving or speed were factors in the crash, according to police, who are investigating.
