A motorist was hospitalized and a vehicle was left resting on its side after two vehicles collided in the city’s College Square neighborhood Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the injury traffic call at 6700 block of Harbor Avenue at 8:20AM, said Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson.

“Upon arrival officers found that all parties involved were outside their vehicles,” Johnson said.

Long Beach paramedics transported one person to a local hospital with unknown injuries and whose condition is also unknown at this time, according to Johnson.

Long Beach resident Rebecca Huckeba said the victim was a female motorist in a gray SUV that flipped when it was struck by another vehicle. She said two parked vehicles were also damaged.

“I was in the house and heard a boom but didn’t think anything until two fire trucks and one paramedic and two cop cars came and blocked our street,” Huckeba told the Post.

While not sure of the cause of today’s crash she said it’s common to see vehicles speeding down Harbor Avenue and residents hope city officials can place speed bumps in the future.
