Woman Killed in Torrance 405 Freeway Crash Identified as Long Beach Resident

Authorities identified a Long Beach woman killed on the Fourth of July when her vehicle veered off the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Torrance and rolled over a ditch.

Dyan Ross, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

The collision was reported at 3:06AM on the southbound San Diego Freeway near Western Avenue, CHP Officer Alex Rubio said. No other injuries were reported. The Western Avenue onramp to the southbound 405 Freeway was closed until 7:48AM, said CHP Officer Stephan Brandt.
