Woman shot while riding her bicycle in North Long Beach area

A woman was shot while riding her bicycle in the Sutter neighborhood in the North Long Beach area Sunday morning, Long Beach police said.

Officers arrived to West Del Amo Boulevard near Pacific Avenue at around 4:20 a.m. and found the victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to her lower body and bullet casings at the scene, police said. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital and she is in stable condition, police said.

According to police, the woman was riding her bicycle when she was approached by an unknown man who shot her and fled the scene.

Police have not identified the motive for the shooting nor any more information about the suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
