This is it: The city’s biggest fundraising day of the year has arrived.

Long Beach Gives ends at midnight today, Sept. 19, and we need your help to meet our goal of raising $25,000 to support a cohort of youth journalists, who are producing a range of content (stories, photos, videos, radio spots) to help voters make informed decisions on Nov. 5.

We hope to grow and expand the program — a partnership with Long Beach Public Radio.

But as a new nonprofit, we need your help.

And today your donation goes even further:

One of our newest board members, James Ahumada, has pledged to match all donations up to $1,000.

This means that every dollar you give goes further in allowing us to continue this work, which means a lot to us at the Post.

We choose to be journalists because we believe in truth, transparency and a democracy in which everyone is empowered to participate.

We hope you agree.

Sincerely,

Melissa Evans, CEO
