California’s lowest paid health workers want a pay boost. Why industry leaders are pushing back

Senate Bill 525 calls for a minimum hourly wage of $25 that would be adjusted annually for inflation. If the proposal becomes law, the new minimum wage would go into effect in January 2024 and benefit an estimated 469,000 health workers.
