Vacancies, injuries, turnover feed staffing shortages inside LBFD, department says

Injuries, transfers, retirements and resignations are fueling the staffing issues that are forcing Long Beach Fire Department personnel to work overtime shifts multiple times per month and leading to a diminished quality of life, a department official said Tuesday.

Hollywood adds an ‘extra’ boost to Long Beach homeless population

An ersatz homeless encampment was set up along the Los Angeles River—a spot coincidentally close to where city and county officials conducted a sweep of actual homeless encampments just a few weeks ago—by film crews for an upcoming TV show.

North Long Beach warehouse plans withdrawn following community pushback
