One of the most storied high school football programs in the country is finally starting its very own Hall of Fame, with the first ever Poly Football induction ceremony Thursday, July 24th at The Reef in Long Beach.  Honorees for the first class of Hall inductees are: Earl McCullouch, Sam Dimas, Willie Brown, Gene Washington, Dee Andrews, Bill Jessup, Don Norford, Tony Hill, Mark Carrier, Marquez Pope, Brian Tuliau, and a special posthumous award to Kirk Jones.

The event is being held as a fundraiser for the Poly Football Booster Club, and will honor a tradition of 113 years of Jackrabbits Football.  If you’re interested in attending, contact Starr Scott at (562) 522-4533 immediately—tickets will only be available through Thursday of this week.  If you can’t make it, check back at LBPostSports.com for complete coverage of the event, as well as upcoming bios on the honored players.  This is an event sure to become a regular fixture in Long Beach sports, as the Jackrabbits have produced nearly 40 NFL athletes, more than any other high school in the country.
