Obviously, as you can see from yesterday’s list, it was an incredible year for sports on all levels of national and international competition. But as thrilling as Michael Phelps, Tiger Woods, and the Lakewood v. Poly showdown was, there’s nothing quite like a world championship. That’s why, for our money, the moment of the year has to be the 2008 PONY All-Star team’s dramatic, walk-off home run victory over Taiwan in the world title game.
