Well, we didn’t get a ground-shattering result out of the Moore League coaches when we went around and asked for their preseason ranking of how the league would shake out, but that’s to be expected—these guys have seen Poly reload often enough to know that the ‘Rabbits will still be pretty formidable, no matter how many guys they graduated.
We had each coach rank the league from first through seventh, and then gave each first-place pick seven points, each second-place pick six points, etc. Poly got the most first-place nods by far, with four. They’re separated from Lakewood by just three points, and Lakewood from Jordan by another three. The coaches think this is the year Wilson turns it around, as they put the Bruins in, just a point ahead of the Tarbabes. Competition was even tighter at the bottom of the bracket, where Cabrillo edged out Millikan by a point.
Of course, we won’t know how true any of these predictions are until the seasons over, so we (and they) will all just have to wait and see.
