12:11pm | The 2011 Naples Island Swim event will be held Saturday, September 17th in the Los Alamitos Bay. The event has been held annually for many years, but this will be the second year with the Long Beach Shore Aquatics as its host.

It is an open water swimming competition for ages 7 through adult. There are five events of varying length with the 3 mile race around Naples Island as the premier competition. Last year over 230 competitors took part in the event.
