Without the services of Kevin Chen (injured), Scott Byrum (DQ), Scott Shapiro (DQ), Ingemar Grave (injured), Paul Leigh (injured) and Matt Kresky (injured), the 49ers were unable to mount a third period comeback and fell to the LMU Lions 6-4 in Culver City on Saturday night.

Long Beach tied the game 2-2 in the second period when Sean Hoang faked Lion goaltender Tyler Payne out of his skates with a nifty move behind the net. After that though, the Lions capitalized on some lucky bounces and 49er turnovers to pull away for the win.

The 49ers finish the 2009-2010 season on Saturday, February 20 against the Cal. State Fullerton Titans at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario following the Reign game which begins at 6pm. Tickets can be prepurchased from the Titans by emailing [email protected]. If you do not prepurchase from them, you will still need to buy a ticket from the Reign at the door for $12.
