The final round of the Moore League Individual Tournament took place yesterday at Skylinks Golf Course, and Wilson sophomore Chase Nicolai turned a two shot deficit at the start of the day into an eight shot lead after the opening nine holes. 

Nicolai made five birdies on the front nine, with four of them coming consecutively over holes 3 through 6, to post a 31 and take the lead. Nicolai increased the lead to nine after a birdie at the 11th hole. His first bogey came at the 13th hole, and he struggled a little down the stretch from there. Nicolai, however, had earned himself enough of a cushion that he could afford a couple of bogeys over the closing holes. He finished with a one-under par round of 71 to post a 72 hole total of one-under par 287 to claim the Moore League Individual Championship.

Wilson junior Scott Parkin, who was the leader heading into the final round, struggled on the front 9 with a five-over par 41.  He battled back on the back 9 to post 35 and finish the final round at 76. Parkin finished the 72 hole event in second place with a total of 290.

Wilson sophomore Andrew Morgan had the round of the day. Morgan posted a two-under par round of 70, which included four birdies and an eagle. Morgan finished the event in third place with a total of 292.

The top six finishers in the event qualified to play in the CIF Southern Individual Regional on Monday, May 17th at Skylinks Golf Course.
