The CIF Southern Section has released their Rankings for Academic success in the classroom for all of its Southern Section Teams.  GPAs were unweighted and included all classes in which a student received a grade.  Awards are for each sport and divided into small schools and large schools.  The Long Beach Poly Baseball team finished 5th overall, just 0.044 off the lead.  The team was paced by Freshman pitcher/1B, Chris Castellanos, and sophomore infielder/pitcher, Jeff Turley, each earning 4.0 GPA.  The seventeen-member team includes student-athletes:
