Here’s a list of events this week that you should attend. There’s something to see every day in Long Beach, so we’ll see you in the stands!
TUESDAY
Boys’ Volleyball: Millikan @ Wilson. 4:30pm
Last year the Bruins marched through the Moore League and made a memorable run in the playoffs. On the first night of league play Millikan will try to keep a reloading Wilson team from running away from the pack.
WEDNESDAY
Baseball: Millikan vs. Wilson @ Blair Field, 6:30pm
The Bruins are still riding high after their victory over Lakewood, and the Rams are still trying to get their first league win. It looks like a game that should be one-sided, but this is Moore League baseball and we know anything can happen, especially when a good team has their backs against the wall.
THURSDAY
LBSU Men’s Volleyball vs. BYU @ The ‘Myd, 7pm
The No. 4 Cougars and No. 9 49ers have played some classic matches in the last few years, and this one has the earmarks for another memorable night in the ‘Myd. Dean Bittner love to play against BYU. Need we say more?
FRIDAY
LBSU Baseball & Softball vs. Pacific
Long Beach State softball and baseball will open the Big West schedule this weekend at home against Pacific. The 49er Softball Complex will be alive all afternoon with a 1pm and 3pm double header which gives you plenty of time to make it to Blair Field for the first pitch at 6:30pm. The Tigers (16-7) are in first place in the Big West, but they haven’t played anywhere near as tough a schedule as the Dirtbags.
