This Saturday, several local players will be featured in the boys’ and girls’ SCA Senior All-Star Games, to be held at 7pm.  The boys’ game will be at Paramount High, and the girls’ at St. Margaret’s.

In the boys’ game, Millikan sweeper Jesse Hernandez will suit up in the Division 1 whites; in the girls’ game, league rivals from Poly and Wilson will don the Division 1 whites to face the Division 2 All-Stars.  Poly’s Jazmine Rhodes and Megan Brock were both selected (Brock won’t be available to play), while Wilson sends Brittny Vaughn and Kristyn Benavidez to the game.

Brock was also named as a winner of an SCA Scholarship, one of eight Southern Californian prep soccer players to be so honored. She will be attending academic powerhouse Swarthmore College, The US News’s #3 ranked liberal arts college in the fall.  She’s expected to make an impact for the Garnet women and helping them improve on their 2009 16-4-1 season in which they won a third straight ECAC Championship.
