It seems apropos for this Lakewood Lancer team to play a close game in the CIF playoffs.  They dominated the bottom half of the Moore League, but struggled to stay in games with Wilson and Poly.

So, it makes sense that the first round of the CIF playoffs would land right in the middle.

The Lancers played to a 0-0 tie with Royal after four periods, and fell in penalty kicks, 3-1.
