Thursday could not have gone much worse for 49ers basketball as the rival Titans ran rough shot in Long Beach and Fullerton.  But this is the beauty of sports: there’s always tomorrow.  Or today, as it were.

The ‘Myd will be home to yet another matinee doubleheader today as Long Beach and UC Irvine renew the Black & Blue Rivalry Series, which Irvine leads 7-6 after the men’s volleyball match last night.

You need to be in the ‘Myd for these, but if you have to stay home for football, make sure you keep one eye on our LIVE game blogs during both games!  And leave your comments.  Hopefully, we’ll see you in the stands…

The Anteaters are in the middle of a four-game roadie as Big West play is underway.  They got it started right at CSUN on Thursday night with a close win, 65-62.  Five different ‘Eaters got into double digits, but normally the offense goes through Eric Wise and Michael Hunter.  The sophomore Wise already has back-to-back Big West Player of the Week awards as he’s averaging 16 points and 7 rebounds in the point.  Hunter roams the perimeter and leads the time with 43 three pointers and 23 steals while averaging 15 points per game.
