When life hands you lemons, you start a 6’6” freshman.  Or at least, that’s what Poly boys’ basketball coach Sharrief Metoyer did last night after the team found out senior Shelton Boykin will sit out the rest of the season with a broken wrist.

Ninth grader Roshcon Prince came up to varsity to fill the spot and dropped a team-high 17 points on the visiting Lancers for a 50-36 victory.  Ryan Anderson had 10 points and blocked five shots.

Jared Garber led Lakewood with 11 points, but no other Lancer touched double digits.  Jonathan Snagg scored eight points and Justin Hughey added seven.

Poly will travel to Wilson on Monday, while Lakewood will see Jordan on Wednesday.
