The Poly wrestling program grew up a little more yesterday as the Jackrabbits (1-1) soundly defeated Norwalk, 54-21, but fell to Torrance, who finished off the final six Jackrabbits with the pin and won the duel meet, 50-24.

Poly’s best wrestler Jesus Preciado won both of his matches by pin at 152lbs, and his brother Sergio also won both his matches via pins.

Richie Touch wrestled at 119lbs and started the day right for Poly by pinning Torrance’s Artem Dotsenko.  The deciding match of the night came at 145lbs with Michael Williams of Poly coming out victorious, 14-13, over Torrance’s Mark Miyamota after Williams picked up two points on a reversal with two seconds left.

The Jackrabbits get their first real test next Thursday when they travel to Lakewood in a Moore League showdown.
