Tonight at 4:30pm the Redondo Beach Café in association with the Freedom4U organization, is proud to announce that they will be celebrating “Coach George Allen’s NFL Hall of Fame Game Celebration” a dine-in fundraiser watching the Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans Hall Of Fame Game.

Join Long Beach football fans to Kick off of the NFL’s 2009 season (while celebrating Coach Allen’s legacy and) raising funds for the local non-profit Freedom4U organization while watching this year’s Hall of Fame Game. Celebrate Coach Allen’s legacy with former professional athletes, friends and family reminiscing about the special moments they shared with Coach Allen.

An auction, and raffle prizes, and a portion of the proceeds from the evening’s activities will be donated to the local non-profit organization Freedom4U. Freedom4U’s Director, Dr. Greg Allen, is the son of Coach Allen. A licensed therapist, Greg developed Freedom4U to provide services for youth and their families, enriching the quality of their relationships and lives.

Coach Allen (HOF Class of 2002) had the third best winning percentage (.681) in NFL history. He also never coached a team to a losing season. His NFL coaching career began in 1957 with the Los Angeles Rams. By the time Allen retired, thirty years later, his defensive innovations had become mainstays of NFL strategies that remain to this day. At the age of 71, in 1990, Allen came out of retirement to coach Long Beach State to a winning season.
