In our preview, we wrote that the game would be decided by the Titans’ amazing team hitting vs. Poly’s ace pitcher in Mario Gordon.  There was a high likelihood that whoever scored first would win the game—unfortunately it was Tesoro who scored first, and last, in a 6-0 win over Poly in the first round.

Gordon and the ‘Rabbits held the Titans down for the first half of the game, but the Titans’ Ryan Goodbrand was just as good, and then a little better, throwing a four-hit shutout.  He also had six strikeouts to go with only one walk.

Gordon found himself in a familiar situation, trying to keep his opponent down while hoping for offensive production from his young teammates—the Titans got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth, then tacked on two more runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth.  Gordon came out after the sixth run was scored.  The ‘Rabbits’ season ends with a 15-16 record, with a second-place finish in the Moore League.
