Poly freshman Deon Reid stepped his game up in Tuesday’s CIF Southern Section Swimming and Diving Masters Meet and took first-place in boys diving at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.  The 15-year-old could have stopped after five dives and still beaten everyone except one diver.

On the girls side, Millikan’s defending Masters champion junior Paulina Guzman finished second with 310.85 points.

Wilson senior Matt Schecter was 21st in the in the boys 50-yard freestyle (48.05).  Wilson junior Nathan Walter added a 19th-place finish in the 100 backstroke (55.14).  In the girls 200 free relay, Wilson took seventh place in 1:40.19.  Wilson sophomore Maddie Golison took ninth place in the 200 IM in 2:10.30.  Kelly Ringel, a junior from Wilson, was 10th in the 50 freestyle (24.36) and junior teammate Jamie Williams finished 23rd in the same race (25.19). Ringel added a 22nd-place finish in the 100 free (54.59).  Wilson’s girls 200 medley relay took 19th place in the 400 free relay (3:44.81).
