The two Long Beach divers who won their CIF championships (Division I champ Paulina Guzman, a junior from Millikan and Nykola Bodnar, Divions IV champ and a freshman from St. Anthony) will be competing today at the CIF Masters Diving Meet, from noon to 3pm at Belmont.  Tickets are $8.00 General Admission and $5.00 for students with ID.  Doors open at 11:30AM.

Nykola’s older sister Talia was a member of the Divison I Girls Swimming and Diving 1st Place Champion Team of 2005, from Wilson High School.

Both Nykola and Paulina are high school divers as well as club divers at McCormick Divers, a club program that works out at Belmont and MLK Pool.  Also representing the club in addition to their high school are:

Deon Reid:  4th Place Boys Division I, Freshman at Long Beach Polytechnic HS.

Larry Reinhard, Jr.:  6th Place Boys Division I, Junior at Woodrow Wilson HS.

CIF Masters Meet draws participants from the top two divers in each division, and then the next highest scorers at division championships, for a total of twelve boys and twelve girls to compete in this meet.  All divers will be performing six dives.

Stay tuned to find out how these divers do, and if you’re interested in McCormick Divers contact Coach Charly Collins at 310-809-6290 or [email protected].
