—Five players scored in double figures against Sacramento State to give Long Beach State its third season-opening win under head coach Jody Wynn, who is in her fourth year at the helm of the program.
Women’s Soccer (12-8-0)
Lost at #17 Santa Clara, 2-1 (NCAA Tournament First Round)
—The 49ers made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, and fourth overall.
Women’s Volleyball (15-11, 10-5 Big West)
Won vs. CS Fullerton 3-1
Won at UC Riverside 3-0
—The two wins for the 49ers last week moved Long Beach State into sole possession of second-place in the Big West with three games to play.
No. 8 Men’s Water Polo (21-7, 3-4 MPSF)
Won vs. No. 4 Pepperdine 12-7
Won vs. No. 9 UC Irvine 12-10
—True freshman Nolan McConnell slammed in four goals against UCI in the first period Sunday in the 12-10 victory and finished with five on the weekend. Balint Meszaros recorded 14 saves during the two-game stretch giving him, 247 on the season.
