From LBSU reports

Just two days after facing the No. 10 team in the nation on the road, the 49ers again faced a tough draw, falling to No. 2 Cal 7-0 in Berkeley on Saturday. The 49ers will play either NC State or Washington Sunday morning at 10am.

Long Beach State dropped the doubles point, as Bodusic/Ravelojoana defeated Rachel Manasse and Jessica Weeks 8-3, while Andersson/Juricova outlasted Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton 9-8.

In singles, the 49ers again had a tough time against a very strong opponent, falling in straight sets in all six matches. No. 68 Hannah Grady lost 6-1, 6-1 to No. 13 Marina Cossou in number one singles, a match between the two highest ranked players from each team. Freshman Anais Dallara played well against No. 30 Claire Ilcinkas, rebounding from a 6-1 first set loss to force a tiebreaker before losing 7-6.

The 49ers will face the loser of No. 36 NC State and No. 38 Washington tomorrow at 10 a.m., the first opponent for The Beach outside of the national Top 10.
