The first half of the Moore League Girls’ Soccer schedule has proved three things. One, the Jaguars have something going on over at Cabrillo. Two, the Wilson Bruins are far and away the most talented team, again. And three, the Poly Jackrabbits want to beat the Bruins. Like really bad.
Here are the three games you need to see as the Moore League wraps up, and the playoffs get closer…
Wilson @ Poly on Tuesday, January 27th
In the first meeting, it looked like the ‘Rabbits had the upset wrapped up, but two goals in the final ten minutes lifted the Bruins to victory. Poly is a little healthier now, but Wilson has that swagger again. Who will emerge as the Moore League’s best?
Poly @ Lakewood on Tuesday, February 10th
In the first meeting, a young Lancer squad let a second half goal get to them, and Poly took advantage with two more for the 3-0 win. If Poly wants to be Moore League elite, they have to win these types of games on the road. If Lakewood wants to get back on the right track, they have to avenge losses like these.
Lakewood @ Cabrillo on Thursday, February 12th
In the first meeting, the Jags and Lancers went back and forth in the second half for a 2-2 tie. If everything else goes as we expect it to, this game could decide who takes the third playoff spot. Cabrillo hasn’t beaten Lakewood in its ten-year history and is still looking for its first playoff berth.
