So, when do they just start calling the Big West Conference Player of the Week award the D-Mo Award? Long Beach State senior Donovan Morris was been named the Big West POW for the third time this season and the fifth time in his two-year career at LBSU.
Morris earned the award after leading The Beach to a 76-71 win over Temple on Dec. 22. He sparked the 49ers to the win with 23 points, on 7-of-13 shooting, while grabbing a season-high nine rebounds and dishing out a season-best five assists. After a less than stellar showing at home against Montana State, Morris and the 49ers turned it around and played possibly their best game since coach Dan Monson took over last year
Morris also earned player of the week honors on Nov. 25 and Dec. 6. He had a pair of player of the week honors as a junior as well.
