Well, everyone is playing for the first time this Fall, which meant an even later night for us as we had seven stories and two highlight videos to put together.  But it’s great news for you, as it means you get more Moore League Action; how’d they do?  To break it down, our teams were 5-2 on the week, and the five winners had a combined score of 125-17.  The other two teams—well, keep reading if you want to know.

Cabrillo
We’ve been high on A.J. Luke since he took over at Cabrillo.  It’s not because of his record (0-3), it’s because he’s the consummate high school coach, and because of his team’s potential. Click here to read the full story.

Compton
Compton further established themselves as a playoff contender by ending a 20-year drought against their crosstown rival, improving to 2-0. Click here to read the full story.

Jordan
You’re gonna want to read this story if only to see some of the most ludicrous defensive stats ever recorded in 11-man football.  Jordan’s D is for real.  Click here to read the full story.

Lakewood
Everybody loves a rivalry game, and the only thing better is a rivalry game played for a ridiculous and coveted trophy.  Lakewood got it done on Friday against Mayfair, as their offense continues to pick up steam.  Click here to read the full story and to see the highlight video.

Millikan
We’ve been calling them the Wild Cards since July, and tonight Millikan proved why, with a disappointing loss to Redondo at home.  Click here to read the full story.

Poly
It was Poly’s first home game of the season, and they looked…well, pretty much like Poly.  A stellar D and an unstoppable run game make for great video highlights. Click here to read the full story and to see the highlight video.

Wilson
Coach Morales said after last week’s tough loss that he hoped to keep his kids’ heads up to come out and compete against Ganesha—the Bruins did just that, posting a shutout win, 27-0.  Click here to read the full story.
