6:30pm | Long Beach City College (LBCC) is celebrating its back-to-back South Coast Conference wins for its men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Freshman forward Tim Harty scored a pair of goals to provide all the offense in a 2-0 Long Beach City College (LBCC) win over visiting Pasadena City College (PCC) on Tuesday. The South Coast Conference (SCC) win improved LBCC to 7-6-6 overall and 4-5-4 in the SCC.
 
After a scoreless first half, Harty headed in a cross pass from the right corner by Luis Reynoso to give LBCC a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute. Harty closed out the scoring with a goal off a long pass down the middle from Robert Burgos in the 61st minute. Freshman Jesus Gutierrez posted four saves in goal for the Vikings. Ramiro Martinez had six saves for the Lancers. Long Beach outshot Pasadena (7-9-4, 2-8-3 SCC) by a 24-12 margin.
On the women’s side, freshman forward Kylee Daly scored twice in the first half and sophomore forward Claudia Toledo added two more goals to lead LBCC to a 4-0 SCC win against PCC as well. The win improved Long Beach to 12-6-1 overall and 8-4-1 in SCC play while Pasadena dropped to 7-9-4 and 4-7-3.
 
Daly scored both her goals over a five-minute span. In the 32nd minute, she took a pass from Michelle Cardenas and beat PCC goalie Jessica Capra to put LBCC up 1-0. Toledo continued her impressive scoring pace. After putting in four goals on Friday, Toledo added goals in the 40th and 88th minutes of today’s contest. She now leads LBCC with 20 goals and has seven assists for a team-best 47 points this season.
 
Freshmen Ashley Buckner (45 minutes, 0 saves) and Jeanette DeAnda (45 minutes, 3 saves) combined to post Long Beach’s sixth shutout of the season.
 
Long Beach closes out the South Coast Conference schedule on Thursday, November 10th, when it travels to El Camino College for a 1pm men’s game and a 3pm women’s game.
