Though the Long Beach State women’s volleyball season has come to a close after a loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament over the weekend, the accolades keep rolling in as junior Caitlin Ledoux was named a first-team AVCA All-West Region selection earlier today.
The powerful outside hitter led the 49ers in both kills and service aces and is eligible for All-America honors with the All-West selection. She was one of just five Big West Conference players to make the All-West squad, and one of just fourteen players from the three west coast conferences.
The 49ers made their 24th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance this year after receiving an at-large bid and tying for second place in the Big West. Ledoux was an offensive focal point of head coach Brian Gimmillaro’s attack, ranking fourth in the conference with 3.80 kills per set.
